Missiological research

Research among the indigenous peoples of Central India is limited, and much can be learned from indigenous leaders & ministries reaching the remote peoples of Maharashtra with the Gospel. GPE, Intl. is conducting missiological research in Maharashtra focused on missional partnerships. The goal is to enable healthy missional partnerships between indigenous and supporting ministries that results in more indigenous churches being planted among the unreached.

Indigenous leader & Missionary training

There is an ongoing need for additional laborers in the field.  In response to this need, GPE, Intl. works with indigenous leaders in the theological and missiological training of locals within their context.  Indigenous missionaries reaching the lost among their own people groups is the most effective and cost efficient method of church planting in many context.

Equipping Locals for Evangelism & Discipleship

Literacy is a major obstacle to the majority of tribal peoples in Maharashtra. GPE, Intl. along with the indigenous leaders have strategically planned & funded a Bible Storying project in 2 local languages. Indigenous leaders are trained in story telling and equipped to share God’s story within their context. Bible storying is being used in both evangelistic outreach and as a discipleship tool among the oral cultures where churches have been planted.

Sixty percent of Believers in the house churches are illiterate which makes discipleship and those Believers being in God’s Word daily very difficult. GPE, Intl. along with the indigenous leaders have strategically planned & funded access to Audio Bibles in 2 local languages for remote villages. Audio Bibles will immediately impact the Discipleship of Believers by distributing microSD cards to be played on cell phones.  The more people reached in these remote areas, the more Audio Bibles will need to be produced.
